Bundle deals

Bundles that still make sense in month 13

Any bundle looks good for a year. We score them on 24-month total cost, so you know what happens when the promotional credit falls off.

Internet + mobile

Typically $10–$25/mo, ongoing

Pairing home broadband with mobile lines from the same parent carrier is the most durable discount in the US market. It is usually structured as a standing per-line or per-service credit rather than a 12-month teaser, so it survives the promo period.

  • Credit generally continues past month 12
  • Grows with each line, commonly capped around 4–5 lines
  • Requires both accounts on the same billing profile
  • Verify mobile coverage at home and work before consolidating

Internet + TV

$20–$30/mo for 12 months, then it flips

Cable TV bundles advertise a low combined rate, then add broadcast TV fees, regional sports fees and per-box charges that sit outside that rate. Those pass-through fees commonly add $20–$30 per month and can rise mid-contract without breaking the agreement.

  • Ask for the all-in price including RSN and broadcast fees
  • Set-top boxes typically $8–$12 each per month
  • Best value for live sports and local regional networks
  • Streaming-only households usually save more unbundled

Internet + whole-home Wi-Fi

$5–$10/mo vs renting extenders

Mesh coverage included with the plan instead of rented per node. In homes over roughly 2,000 sq ft, or with plaster, brick or multiple floors, this fixes dead zones that a faster speed tier cannot.

  • Extenders rented individually run $3–$7 per node monthly
  • Managed mesh includes firmware updates and support
  • Buying your own mesh usually pays back in 12–18 months
  • Not available where the gateway is provider-locked

Small business + voice

Quoted per site

Business-class internet with a static IP, VoIP lines and a service-level agreement. Almost always sold on a 24- or 36-month term, so weigh the credit against the flexibility you give up.

  • Static IP typically $15–$25 per month
  • VoIP seats commonly $20–$35 per user
  • SLAs quote 4-hour response, not guaranteed uptime
  • Multi-site accounts can be billed on one invoice

The 24-month bundle test

  1. 1. Bundle cost = (12 x promo rate) + (12 x regular rate) + equipment + installation.
  2. 2. Standalone cost = the same formula for each service, added together.
  3. 3. If the gap is under about $10/mo, take the option with no term agreement.
